            SAMUEL moved to Rochester by 1894 and lived at numerous addresses in the 19th and 20th Wards. 
            He worked as a laborer until he became a gardener in 1902 at 133 Fitzhugh St., Rochester, NY.

      Cpl. ASA BAKER enlisted in the Vermont militia on Dec. 20, 1779, Bennington, VT, in Col. Seth Warner's regiment. 
      He later served in the Connecticut Line.  ASA died at Canawaugus in the Town of Northampton, Ontario Co., NY,
      on Sept. 24, 1800.  His place of burial has never been found.

      2.1 LEANDER BAKER (b. 1794, Hartford, Livingston Co., NY; d. 1857, West Henrietta, Monroe Co., NY) m. MARILLA
             HOVEY (b. 1799, VT; d. 3-29-1869, West Henrietta, Monroe Co., NY), daughter of BENJAMIN HOVEY

            LEANDER was a farmer and may have been one of the founding numbers of the West Henrietta Baptist
            Church in 1838.  He was born in that part of Ontario Co. that became Livingston Co., NY.  There is no visible
             gravestone for him near MARILLA's in the Bushman Cemetery in West Henrietta, NY.

            In 1850 BENJAMIN HOVEY, aged 70, was living with them.  Alfred HOVEY, age 15, was living with their son,
            Jesse Baker and family.   MARILLA died at age 69 yr. 7 mo.

                  SAMUEL farmed in Henrietta, NY, until he sold his property Sept. 6, 1864, and moved to Wheatland, NY,
                  where he bought a farm of about 100 acres north of Belcoda, partly in Wheatland and partly in Riga.
